About the operator: Can I Afford This? is operated by Santiago Cornejo, an individual based in Peru — not through a registered business entity at this time. These Terms are governed by the laws of Peru.
1. About this agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Can I Afford This? (the "Service"), a web-based purchase-decision calculator. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
2. What the Service does
Can I Afford This? is an educational financial decision-support tool. You enter information about your finances and a purchase you're considering, and the Service calculates an estimate of how that purchase would affect your financial position, along with a suggested verdict (buy now, wait, or not recommended) and, where relevant, an estimate of how long waiting might help.
3. Not financial advice
Educational estimate, not financial advice. The Service does not provide financial, investment, tax, accounting, legal, or other professional advice of any kind. Nothing produced by the Service is a recommendation to take or avoid any specific financial action. The calculations are estimates based solely on the numbers you provide, are not a guarantee or prediction of your actual future financial situation, and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for any financial decision. Consider consulting a qualified, licensed professional for advice specific to your situation.
4. How the calculations work
All estimates are calculated from the information you type in. The Service does not connect to your bank, brokerage, or any other financial institution, and does not perform a credit check of any kind. The accuracy of any result depends entirely on the accuracy of the information you provide.
5. Accounts
You can use the Service's calculator without creating an account. Creating an account lets you save purchase analyses you choose to save and view them again later. See our Privacy Policy for details on what is stored and who can see it.
6. Free usage and Pro
The Service allows a limited number of free analyses. A paid "Pro" tier, billed monthly or annually, is available on our pricing page. Choosing to continue with Pro takes you to a checkout page operated by Lemon Squeezy, our payment processor, to complete a real payment. You can cancel anytime; if you cancel, you keep Pro access through the end of the period you already paid for, rather than losing it immediately.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service — for example, by attempting to circumvent usage limits through automated means, interfering with the Service's normal operation, or using it to store or transmit unlawful content.
8. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service and its operator are not liable for any financial decision you make, or for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service.
10. Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated from time to time. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
